hi any of you guys have a screen and reversing camera in your cars...

Already planning winter dash layout in my Ultima and dont want a screen too small or too big... Was thinking of possibly a pop down screen from the roll cage or indash screen like Luckyp's.....

do you have it as part of radio or use it as a constant rear view screen

costs would be nice to know as well

thanks Dom

Kenwood KOS-V500 hideaway controller, £299, 4 or 7 inch screen to go with it, reverse camera about £80. All nice and neat and not taking up much space.

You're driving your Ultima in the winter? Damn. I think I am moving where you live. It's hard to drive an Ultima during winter here in Canada, with 2 feet of snow on the roads and -35 celsius weather.

other ways to do it without the need for a DIN sized unit recessed into the dash....i.e. face mounted screen-only system with flash or disc drive...

1. solid state recorder and camera package. Screen may be a bit small though

2. Archos.... audio+video+GPS

3. GPS system that has reversing camera function + audio (mp3 etc)

Reverse sensors are all you need and take a lot less space.

How about a carputer? A fully functional PC in double-DIN form factor. We stuck an Infill G4 into our GTR, hooked it up to audio system, GPS, reverse cam, OBD-II diagnostics, WiFi. For more ideas check out http://www.infill.co.kr/ or http://www.cartft.com/catalog/il/543. We have a spare unit, so if anybody is interested pls PM me.

Cheers,
Willy
