A brass rad should be easily repaired.
It might be worth having a very close look around for signs of abrasion.
Although its rubber mounted there is quite a large mass there for those little bobbins. Brass very quickly becomes work hardened and brittle when subject to movement, vibration or stress.
Might be worth replacing the mtgs or fitting movement restrictors on re-installation.

My radweld solution wasn't too successful, it's still dribbling. . . . . . is it worth taking off and repairing or getting an alloy one (I haven't been suffering high water temps)? What company has others used for alloy rads?

I had a leak recently & tracked it to the outlet pipe on the driver's side. Where the large pipe joins the main rad. Took the rad out & down to a local repair shop who sorted the problem & have had no further issues. Took a bit to identify exactly where it was leaking from as it was running along the bottom of the rad & looked as if it might have been a leak in the main body of the rad.
Would suggest taking the rad out & down to a rad repair shop who will pressure test & identify exactly where it is leaking from & repair. Hope you get it sorted.

Thanks for the suggestions guys....Looks like it's coming out and I'll get it tested.
It has red anti-freeze running down from the top (passenger)side of the rad and along the bottom.
It's not too much but enough to worry about if it's going to be hot in France at the end of the month!

Graham, I have a spare radiator available shortly if you want to use for measurements (or even just drop in and use). It has a slight weep from one side but to be honest it's never lost any fluid unless you count the time I didn't do the cap up properly...
It's currently in my GTR but due to be swapped out (by the talented Kyle &Co) this month or June.

I'm still trying to get my head around it. . . .all in all it's been around 4 weeks from when we were told of a separation program, was told last week I was comfirmed as going, signed today and leaving next Friday....!!
