I have a new E38 ls7 pcm and harness for sale some time or other if I don't use it myself. The only thing that seems to be different is that in the US they mount the pcm in the side pod so the harness is a couple of feet shorter then a UK Ultima loom. The pcm can be mapped using Efi Live but it's a slow process as there isn't a Roadrunner version. My pcm has been reflashed to suit a stockish engine and functions not needed have been disabled.
The which ECU question was one that I dwelled on for a while, considering everything from Motec down.
Jeff convinced me that the standard GM ECU was the way to go, it was also the cheapest. I'm happy I took his word for it, I fitted the engine, plugged it in, it started straight up and has run perfect ever since. No rolling road or dyno, no additional expense.
My criteria may have been different than most, I wanted a standard tune engine, over 400 hp with a dry sump. I really wasn't interested in becoming an ECU bore, I didn't want to learn all about cold running maps etc. I got the ls7 as I figured if I went for anything else I'd always be wondering ...what if?
As to tuning, I believe Jeff said the standard ECU was good to about 650hp. However I spend much more time lifting to gain traction or changing up than worrying about more power.

Does Jeff's loom have to be used with a specific ECU?,
What's the best value loom, ECU, package for LS7 Engine.
American Speed
Gardner Douglas
Jeff Schwartz
Anyone else
Does anyone have prices for them?
Can the ECU's be programmed.
Sorry guys i know it's a lot of questions
the best bet is to use a LS7 controller kit which includes your ecu (e67 is best) a fly by wire pedal and a complete loom. You should be able to do the whole lot for £1000.What's the best value loom, ECU, package for LS7 Engine.

efi live works a treat for your mapping, the gm ecus are very good and have every function you need. Im studying the efi live software and have the hardware to do the work so if you want any help in the future please give me a bell
