IVA Test

Has anyone yet had the new IVA test for their Ultima ?

I think someone is trying to get their RCR Superlite coupe through the IVA test but it was few weeks ago. But no response from that person.

The new IVA requirement for a "tethered fuel cap" has been amended - which is good news.

It had previously said that if the key to operate the cap was NOT the same as the ignition key, then the cap needed to be tethered - it has now been amended to say that if the fuel cap is "of a lockable type where the key can only be removed when the cap is locked", then a tether is NOT required.

Let's hope the owner remembers to WELD his balance bar to make it completely non-adjustable....

ermmm...not sure wether to set up brake bias and WELD or set up brake bias and not weld and take the fail.....welding is permanant and if it fails on the test machine......ermmmmm

fuel cap tethered .....stainless steel plug chain works a treat.....rounded edges and light....

its first IVA is in a few weeks time.......

Have the factory put a car through yet?

The brake bias is a real pain as to set it properly you either have to drive it or put it on the brake rollers either of which involve trailering it somewhere to do the tests.

Craig, I don't think you need to tether the fuel cap - see my earlier post.

Unless the design of the Factory fuel cap has changed you can remove the key in either locked or unlocked position so I think a tether will still be required.
