gear box adaptors breather install

had a look at my gear box after having installed the longer 5th gear yesterday by a guy that races and fixes PORSCHE here locally.
I bought the gear pair from the factory (they are original Porsche gears and learned that they can be obtained
from Porsche directly as well).
However the old breather plug seems to be a NPT thread and I could not find a adapter that will close this opening in the factory supplied kit.
The manual is not very precise either.
Neither I could find instructions or adaptors where the pipes (Dash 3 ?) are connected to the gear box ?
So it looks like I will have to source these adaptors myself ? Maybe somebody has been through this already ?

how easy was it to install the 5th gears.. DIY job or specialist?? and can it be done with gearbox fitted to the car..?

I decide to tackle the gearbox breather next - I've been putting this off! In the end it only takes about half an hour - simply remove the 2 small inspection covers I'm going to use, run the 8mm drill through followed by the 3/8" tap and refit. Position the little tank, mark and drill for rivets, fix it on and connect up. Looks really nice.

is unf 3/8 x 24 what I need ?

you need special tools and I think even after seeing how it is done, i would not go for myself i gave the guy 150 euro, and it took him 45 minutes to do it.
