Reverse lights not working
Discussion
I've had problems with mine too. I took the switch out and tested it by pressing a screw driver in the end. Mine worked when I didn't screw it in all the way but now its stopped working again. Go figure. The switch isn't faulty, but seems very sensitive. Hopefully others can weigh in here with some sage advice.

In the UK we have to have rear fog lights so there are no lamps left for reverse so there will be no prior experience to tap.
The wiring implies that the switch does not earth anything so it should not matter which way round the wires go.
Anyhow, Green is ignition switched live so the first thing is to check it is live with the ignition on.
Connecting Green wire to the Green/Brown wire should put the reverse lamp(s) on with the ignition on.
If you now connect the green to the switch the other pin should now have +12v on it with reverse gear selected. If not then either the switch is faulty or perhaps wrongly adjusted.
