I've had a couple folks asking why I haven't been active on forums lately, and wondering if I'm still around, so I thought I'd let you know what I've been doing the last 6 months.
1) Wife of 23 years filed for divorce Jan 29, still trying to reach a settlement.
2) Incorporated my company and made slight name change now Schwartz Performance Inc.
3) 8 complete car and 10 engine projects in process now and a number completed. Several LS7 and twin turbo.
4) Did 2 complete chassis projects for Hennessey, twin turbo viper powered 58 dodge and 69 Plymouth GTX.
5) Did a complete 65 Pontiac Tempest car project in 8 wks for Crafty to drive on Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour.
6) I've added 3 addition staff members and trained them appropriately.
7) Just last week leased a new building for the Schwartz Performance Inc workshop, will be organized and completely moved in by Aug 1st. New address and phone will be on the website soon.
The old shop is 3200 sq ft , the new shop is 7200 sq ft.
8) A fairly busy show schedule as shown on our website.
In a nutshell all is well, we're crazy busy.
Now we have additional staff and soon a larger facility to meet current and future business needs.
Thanks
Jeff

JS, just love your chassis re-creations! It's my ambition to have a 67 Fastback 'stang off you one day!
Keep doing the good stuff!

PS, squeeze in some time to do some more options and mods for the Ultima's, there's a big market here in Europe for them.

If any of you guys are ever in Chicago, drop in and see Jeff. The '65 Tempest he built for me lives there and you are welcome to take it for a spin. It has one of his chassis under it and handles like its on rails. You really need to drive a car with one of his chassis to appreciate what its all about.

I've left the Tempest there so I can go back a few times a year for different events. I'm going back in September to do a 3 day autocross event... also managed to line up a 4 day metal shaping course with Ron Fournier in the same trip... English wheel etc.

I'm planning on doing the Power Tour again next year in the Tempest.... there's discussions about upping the ante a bit with a pair of turbos. After driving Jeff's Ultima I am totally hooked on Twin Turbo V8 power and it will be surreal in a matt black stripped out Tempest. There's also talk of cutting the floor and lowering the car down over the chassis.

More great news.

The Tempest has been selected by the editors of Car Craft magazine to compete in the 2009 Car Craft Real Street Eliminator.

Its an invitation only event - they chose 6 cars in 2 classes for the event.... see below.

Jeff won this in 2002 in his Cadillac - he will be driving the Tempest.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The Car Craft Real Street Eliminator XV

Real Street Eliminator is back and so is your chance to show off your car's braking, handling, and horsepower-generating abilities against the best cars in the nation at the Car Craft Summer Nationals.

The editors of Car Craft magazine will select six cars from two specific classes and two standbys to compete at the nationals. If you are selected, you will receive an invitation to the Car Craft Summer Nationals Real Street Eliminator, a special Real Street Eliminator windshield banner, and a chance to win a Car Craft RSE winner's jacket, and a spot for your car in Car Craft magazine.

The Contest: Each vehicle will compete in the Car Craft Launch Box, the QA1 autocross course, and the Mobil 1 dyno competition where each vehicle will be tested for maximum horsepower on the chassis dyno. To be eligible for the RSE crown, you must compete in all three events.

Points: The Top Three finishers in any one class will receive 10-30 points for their respective positions using the best time, distance, or horsepower number depending on the event. The car with the most points out of 90 wins the Real Street Eliminator for each class. Cars finishing out of the Top Three will receive zero points. DNF and DNS entries will receive 0 points. If there is a tie, the car with the most HP on the dyno wins. DNF or DNS on the dyno count as zero hp.

Rules: All cars must adhere to the rules and regulations set by the autocross sanctioning body (SCCA) and the Mobil One dyno contest. Exceptions to the rules are as follows:
-No diesel fuels
-Racing gasoline is permitted
-Each participant must display the RSE participant windshield banner
-Rear wheel drive passenger cars only

Class 1: '55-'81 American two-wheel-drive vehicles (includes '83 Corvette)
Class 2: '82-and-newer American two-wheel-drive vehicles
Class 3: Manufactures' class
