I got it at Barnes and Noble yesterday. Jay's Ultima GTR with 6L BMW V12 is in there. They're not gonna show the results from Ultimate Street Car Challenge until the next issue though, show all the cars this month as a teaser for next.

Jeff,

Made a special trip to the bookstore to pick up this months issue of Car Craft. Beautiful car! I think the fact that they wouldn't let you "officially" play with the rest of the group speaks volumes! I also think the rear wing looks awesome painted to match by the way...

thanks. The wing is not an Ultima part, nor is it authorized or recommended. It's an APR model GT2 with home made carbon end plates and body mounts.
I picked up Sport Compact Car mag with Jay's V12 BMW powered GTR. Really good article as well.
Lotsa PR all at once in the USA.

I made yet another trip to pick that up as well last night. Another beauty for sure...

I DO wonder one thing... How in the world did he fit that center console in there!?!?! (And does anyone recognize the maker?? The seats don't look particularly narrow or small, but maybe it's the angle of the shot? The article mentions the guage cluster is from a Miata (and really looks good by the way), but was the console from a Miata too?

The Warden (my wife) has a RX8, and I hate the center console in that car. I need a place to rest my arm on long drives, and I really wanted to come up with something that would fit between the seats... Its my one creature comfort I'm not willing to bend on. :-)

the console is made from alloy then covered in kangaroo
hide (very soft and thin),it had to be made to cover the boxster shifter assembly

I made the seats by first making a plug then a mould then finally the seats from 7 layers of carbon cloth
then covered in more roo hide.

the gauges are from a miata, the pod is custom made from composite , I have a mould for it also.

I must say, Jay, I am impressed! And Kangaroo hide...whodathunkit?

So, handmade seats and a Boxter console... How wide are those seats then? By my measurements, about 18.5" wide in the seat is about as wide as you can go without ofsetting the seats with the centerline. Are your seats narrower? Being relatively large of frame (6'3") fitting in a 18.5" seat is a lot lot stretching a gnatt's a%% over a rain barrel anyway. Don't know how much narrower I could go.

And thanks for the info by the way. It is appreciated!!!

the drivers seat is offset from the center of the steering wheel a bit but its not an issue.
The seats are 19" wide.

Yeap, good ol' roo hide. Tough but very very soft. Why do you think David Beckham had roo hide boots made?
Over there, all the do gooders are going on how we are killing our coat of arms...problem is theyre in plague proportions and if we dont try to control their numbers somewhat, they eat everything in sight and all the animals die (including the roos).
Anyway, thats my beef for today...what animal does the carbon fibre come from?
