This is a good one, as above yep you know its done right, but you can get a great deal, you will in most cases get one built cheaper than if you build one. You can always add you own bits afterwards etc. But the main point is how eager are you to be sitting behind the wheel?
Its nearly killed me waiting for it to be finished etc i just cant wait to get her finished now and let rip.

Either way you should love it. Lots of guys on here with a wealth of knowledge, all of us have our own views on extras and adding the individual parts, but one thing remains between everyone of us. We love them!.

Building an Ultima represents considerable investment in both time and money. Most owners/builders therefore believe in doing it 'right'.

That said, there are some lemons out there.

Best bet is to buy a car with some known history and it's always worth checking with the factory too as that can reveal some howlers!

Building the car you will know its real value. Lots of time to enjoy and brain use. It worth the time but take it easy and you will be realized.
My 2 cents.

Thanks for your replies , in the grand scale of time ( and dont it whizz by ) iv got to replace the clutch on my wifes e type which i know that once i remove the engine and box there will be other jobs to be done so the two weekend job ( and im being realistic with my self here ) turns into the two monthish job ,so realisticly i either wouldnt start building the Ultima until the early part of next year, ( still got to finish off this season of sprints and hill climbs so wouldnt start jaguar untill mid/ late september ) my 2nd question ? how longish does a build take ? in my minds eye i was thinking 1 / 1 and half years how close is this guess ?? cheers , Dal

Hello all,
I'm new to this forum, and am building an Ultima GTR, in fact I may have the record for the slowest build (8 years and counting). This will change next year (I say that every year).

Anyway, I've been reading the posts and there's plenty of useful info there.

I can offer this information- Ultimas have no rust problems laugh
