Brake Bias Adjuster and other questions
Discussion
Hi,
I am resuming my build which was on hold while work got in the way of life.
I am amazed at how much I have forgotten of the build process during the two year hiatus. I am just beginning to become familiar with where I left off after three solid days of essentially doing nothing, just busy unproductive milling around and looking at the unfinished build - most of it spent looking through boxes of remaining parts and re-arranging the garage.
I do however have a lot of questions:
1. What is the size of the factory supplied brake bias adjuster bar; I am going to order a remote cable adjuster and they come in a variety of sizes - 3/8 X 24, 7/16 etc.??
2. I recall seeing a build picture with I believe AUDI sourced dash top mounted air vents - anyone have a part number or model and year of AUDI they came from?
3. I am using a LS1 engine (low mileage which I bought at the start of my build and before the factory supported the LSx engines); The factory sent me a list of options for the LS7 engine install but I am still wondering what I need to buy without duplicating what I already purchased in my kit - swirl pot etc. I understand there is a fuel line kit, exhaust, etc. Anyone care to comment or elaborate?
Thanks and expect more questions.

I had a remote bias adjuster on the GTR - can't remember the size offhand - will see if I can dig it out of my archives!I am resuming my build which was on hold while work got in the way of life.

I used Audi vents in the Can-Am (the first to do so I belive?). They are from the TT (original shape).
Can't help on the LS I'm afraid!
Hey Stig,
Those Audi TT Vents...can you remember how long they were projecting backwards? Ie more that say 10cm or less?
Problem is that I rashly ordered some similar Audi vents from the local dealer, and they are very long 14 -15 cm from memory.
Tried asking the dealer what the TT version looks like and they just said find a TT and pop the vent - As if! - I'd get arrested!
Anyone know what the shortest ones are?
cheers

Hi Keith,
Mine are 85 mm long. Original TT ones. Part No. 8 NO 820901A. Now I have an inferiority complex...

Did you get from dealer or breakers?
...Ummmm - well!... But because mine is sooo big, it's too tight and I am having problems fitting it in! (NOOoooooo - Don't! ...Though shalt not Titter!)
... in this instance...don't be sad!... yours is an advantage ....Small is bootiful ...and definately best!

This has always been an issue, I pleaded with tester to test it and then I could adjust it, they insisted that I drilled & pined it afterwards though. I couldn't get my front rear bias right even though I followed the factory settings the computer said no!! It worked out in the but if the bar had been drilled or worst welded then I would have been stuffed.
That was in the days of SVA where every station ran their own version of the rules!!

This dilemma is I suggest crital to get a practical answer for IVAs thus minimising the time, costs and needless stress that getting it wrong can bring. That was in the days of SVA where every station ran their own version of the rules!!

What have others done for IVA?
cheers
