different yellow ?

I asked Ultima for the correct colour code for the factory yellow colour they use. Something like 356 or similar.

Would anyone know first hand the major difference between this factory colour and 'Daytona Yellow'

When you talk about yellow, it always seems to be associated with Daytona, but it's not the colour Ultima use??

Stick with factory settings or go with favouite shade of yellow??

The factory could not/would not give me a code for the yellow.
Even the moulding company gave me some story about there not being a colour code just a makers code for the resin.

For what I wanted I just had a paint company match it and mix me a pot of paint.

Soma paint companies have a machine that can analyse the colour and tell you if it actually matches any of the standard colour ranges.

Have had the same problem, however from very little I know about fibreglass its probably a masterbatch code which is the colour of the pigment that is mixed with the resin so does not represent the absolute colour. Also trust me the colour you started with will not be the same a couple of years later. It darkens with age. Only safe way is to get a match done. I hope I will get mine finally sorted this winter.

They gave me a code, something like BS356 (348?) sunset yellow. That was back in about 2002. I got a paintshop to mix me up a can of it, but I have to say it wasn't a great match, as the gel coat fades. That might be why the factory aren't willing to give out the code any more, as a few weeks in the sun is all it takes for the colour to be wrong.

The OP currently has an orange gel coat car and is looking to respray the whole body ( I think? ) and so an exact match V fading original colour will not be a problem.

If the OP just wants to match a paint to the factory yellow then I'm sure I have some Yellow GF trimmings under the bench somewhere. Under the bench is quite significant as it will not have faded.
