Ultima on a oval

Hi guys: took the GTR out to its first track day Saturday. Car ran like a train, I'm afraid that after 15 years of not running anything bigger than a go cart that the GTR is way faster than I am. The course was the roval at California Speedway. You run down a long straight into a banked turn then out onto about 600 feet of straight and then on the to the road course. I was at 145 or so on the straight then about 120 on the banked turn. The car handled the banking very well I had the shocks set at 30 clicks and I ran on my Michelin PS2s. I had the wing on a pretty high down force setting. Bottom line is the car really took care of me. Lee

I have had my GTR out there too. I almost went this weekend too but decided not to. That would have been fun to compare notes. I'd love to hook up with you to go out together. We ran with regular Michelin Pilot Sports (not PS2's). They are pretty hard and didn't provide the level of traction for me to keep up with the Mercedes SLR's or F430's in the turns, but oh when we came off the last turn to get back out on the main straight, you should have seen their eyes as we cruised past them. But the cars with all the TC and stuff ate me up in the turns. I just bought a set of Toyo R888's. Can't wait to get them on the car.

I totally agree with your comments about the GTR being faster than I am. I ran out of talent before the car did. I love that track!

Just for comparison, we ran 35 clicks and full wing. Did you go with NASA? What run group were you in?
