FIA kill switch

Gary.
Got mine kill switch from Car Builder Solutions www.nfauto.co.uk for £20.
Do you mean joining the cable from the kill switch to the big cluster of brown wires that would have gone to battery plus?
If so then on mine I took the opportunity to join them using a 50Amp fusible link, which comes in a housing with a clip down lid. Many tin tops have them.
Picked mine up from a local auto electrical factors £1.39 the holder & 9P the fuse link.

Have a look at this. www.armtech.co.uk/product/other.htm I picked up a leaflet at Autosports Int. which refers to 1000 amps starting current and 250 amps alternator current.
Don't forget there will be a few systems you will need to supply from the still live side of the switch. These wires will have to be re-routed from their present supply point. Things like alarm system are obvious but more obscure systems like interior lights might be considered.

I've looked at the Armtech units before. The cranking/alternator current you quote are a lot higher than they mention on the website. Is there a new uprated version?
One thing that worries me a little about solid state kill switches is that the solid state contactors I've met before invariably fail to ON.... nothing quite like moving a great lump of copper out of the road to convince you that the car really is off!

Dave. The information I picked up at the Autosports show last week refers to a "Hybrid Battery Isolator" Model No. 70BC06. It states "The unit is capable of switching 1000 amps starting current intermittently (250 amps continuous) and 250 amps alternator current. The alternator is protected upon disconnection from the battery. Alan.
Edited to say that I have just checked the Armtech website and noticed that the Battery Isolator referred to in the write up is Model No. 70BC01 so the leaflet I picked up suggests that there is an uprated model available.
