Hello again!
Does any of you clever folk have a clue where I might be able to source a simple plastic butterfly valve?
This is so I can shut off/on one of the heater vents at will! This could be actuated by a trusty push-pull cable, but ideally I would like also to find an electronic actuator...folorn hope perhaps!
I had thought this would be easy to find...not!
CBS have something like it, but is a Y splitter. It won't fit in the confined space I have under the dash.
It can be 2.5 inch or 2 inchish which is fine, but needs to be either straight or rtangle.
I have searched the internet to no avail. Alternatively maybe someone knows a production car part that might work? ...or someone has a solution or could make me a couple!
Heres hoping!
Keith

I made my own out of drain pipe fittings and a bit of ali sheet.
There is an adaptor to join square drain pipe to round. Take two of those to be glued square to square. Make a square ali plate and fix to a shaft. Make notches in the square end of the pipe adaptors so the shaft can be trapped between them when glued together.
You now have a butterfly valve. Not the prettiest of things but you don't see it up behind the dash.

Thanks again Steve...
That Heater fan...noisy little beast isn't it! Doen't half whine! Does yours?
It's not that it is very loud, but seems MUCH noisier than production cars...
I was expecfting a whooosh of air, but not accompanied by a motor whine!
But..then I guess when you have the engine rumbling in the back you wouldn't notice?
Cheers
