Factory Rear Spoiler - any tips for install?

As per title really - any tips or tricks from those in the know?

Hopefully my spoiler will be waiting for me when I return home to UK this week.....other than following the factory instructions any good tips for the perfect install? Is it easier to install with rear clip on or off car for instance (I have to remove rear clip any way for a couple of small jobs)?

Take it slowly and follow the dimensions to the letter.
It will look odd from certain angles and you can convince yourself it is in the wrong place but don't be fooled....follow (and double check) the dimensions.
I don't believe it will make much difference on or off the car.

Although Ive not reached that stage yet, Im considering beefing up the clip around the mounting posts.
Many seem to eventually crack/delaminate around this area.

Assemble the wing and brackets . Remove the studs . Mask off the body . Rest the wing on the body {assistant }Put a string across the roof of the car dead centre and draped over the rear wing with a weight . Centre the wing and also set at right angles to the string . Pencil mark round the brackets and then you can work out where the holes will go . Don't measure from the back of the body up to the rear of brackets as each side is different and the wing looks terrible if the measurements are the same . Drill the holes with a small blunt bit in a hand drill .A power drill will split the body . Open them up to full size with a file . Dont drill out larger , you will split the body .
Fit brackets after . Put nuts on and tighten wing . Undo one side and sort out this side with shims etc . Then do the other side . Nightmare job and probrably immpossible with rear grill on unless you mark the holes out first with the clip on the car . Then remove the clip etc .

i think taking off the rear bonnet is the best idea for this job, but like the hammer idea, just had the same flash today when starting the hood fit, BIG HAMMER
