Hi Chaps,
Just doing a few finishing touches to my build. I am making some 'exhaust rings' to trim the rear exhaust exits. They are designed to fit over the existing standard black ring and then bolt through with M4 stainless cap head bolts. I am planning to do them black annodised but they could also be plain aluminium.
Is anyone interested in a pair as I will be getting them made very soon? If there is enough interest, I'll see what the prices will be for a larger order, but I suspect it will be around the £25 to £40 mark depending on annodising costs.
Here are a couple of pictures off the CAD system...
Cheers
Mart

OH yes!
Currently my grill holes have nothing! Will this effect the fit of these?

Should fit fine. They are designed to cover the existing ring as they are 15mm wide. The standard ring is only 10mm, so you should have 2.5mm overlap either side. I think they should look good in black as they will match the grill nicely.
I will post some pics when I have had some made.

If they are 2.5mm smaller in diameter, how will this affect the opening and closing of the clip - will they bind on the exhausts?
Martin.
Hi Mart,Martin.
Just to check, I am making one ring to make sure there is enough clearance. At the moment, it looks fine, but it's best to check!
As Steve said, it depends on how long your pipes are (Oh Err Missus)... You could always shorten the rear tail pipes perhaps if it's a problem.
Don't want to make anything till I'm sure!

I'd want to keep them the same ID as the factory plates. If you had these, you no longer have to fold the mesh in side the factory ring, so that would save a mil either side. But as you all know, your pipes can grow about 2 cm when hot and less you tuck 'em in when cold (and the fumes spew out inside the clip), you'll never be able to open your clip when hot if the ID was smaller than factory.

I will modify so that the ID is 2mm less than the ring (currently it is 5mm less). This should bring it exactly level with the inside of the bent over mesh. I've done measurements on my car, but as you say there are a lot of variables and everyones car is slightly different!
Better to be safe than sorry! The ring only protrudes 10mm, so should not be a problem.
Should have some prices by next week and have them made in 2-3 weeks...
