Guys, just planning my dash layout, am i right that a double din unit will not fit without chassis modification?

I know Luckyp installed one but rumour has it he had to modify part of the chassis.

Mark, we installed the Pioneer Avic 900 BT in a GTR with no modifications to the chassis - but it is a VERY TIGHT fit above the lower chassis rail in the cockpit:

Using a pioneer N-4 Single din size and come out of the dash with a 7 in screen. Is a nice review cameria too.

You could try an on-dash system such as the Pioneer AVIC-F500BT or perhaps a CarPC with a slim 7" touchscreen.

here how i installed the Pioneer 700 which is the same as the 900 with some features less.
It is a very good unit, has everyhting you can ask for. I did not install the microphone,I think it is pointless using
the phone in the car.

I've a kenwood double din fitted....but is a tight fit in terms of access, especially as I did some additional underdash panelling.
