Would like to know what the maximum width seat people have "comfortably" used in the GTR.

I don't think you could get away with anything wider than the type the factory supply, unless you have a centre gear shift.
Even then it will be very tight.

The factory seat is 18.5 inches wide in the butt area...
Perhaps people on this list who have non-factory seats can post the seat brand and model they have installed, plus the shifter position and if the handbrake is installed or not. Any comments about special fit problems when using a non-factory seat would also be appreciated.

The problem I had when I fitted a couple of Sparco seats and runners was floor flex. (Not a dropped floor!) The problem totally disapeared when I fitted the factory seats. Same number of fixings went into both too!
