The whole 'kit' thing is really disappointing and i would have hoped that during a time when British business are struggling, TG could have given a better view of 'kits' and helped generate a little bit of interest in what i think is an industry that has some very good quality products in it.

Well I think we all know that TG is an entertainment program not a program for petrolheads, and I think last night just proved what a bunch of t
ts they really are. I will not be watching another TG and I only hope that they (the BBC) do not get their biased hands on an Ultima, as they will make sure that a car built in a shed does not beat the hands that feed them, or they’ll never get another Lambo/Fezza to ‘test’.

I gather that HAWK tried to take legal action against the bbc to stop them showing it.Obviously it failed!

ks. Telly for the brainless masses, rather than something factual/informative.The tragic thing is that, if it wasn't for the kit car manufacturers, very few people would get the chance to see or be able to afford to run the things.
As I said on the other thread, there's nothing wrong with the car that couldn't be put right.
It's just a pity that these guys feel the need to destroy a thing rather than give it a fair trial.

If I were a kit manufacturer I wouldn't be too phased by the show........it could be far worse.....like having just given a car away and still described as crap!.......poor Kia.
If Tv companies can manage to attract enough viewers to produced Scrapyard Challenge etc, why cant they come up with a show based on homebuilts. Doesn't have to be just cars, theres boats, fixed and rotary wing machines, hovercraft and all sorts of stuff out there. The serious manufacturers would be doing their businesses more good to develop this route rather than chasing a slot on a comedy show!
Oh NO.......the suggestion of Ted and Richard's cheesy chops regularly on international TV might be enough to get me barred.....best shut up!

I have to admit as a car enthusiast i find Top gear bloody rubbish !!! i hope to god they never get there hands on a Ultima because they will just rip it to shreds !! 3 idiots without a doubt !!!

How about a spoof Top Fear article presented in the style of Top Gear but using the Factory's FXX killing footage. We'd just need three goon look-a-likes and a video camera and you'd get a You-Tube mega hit, rocket Ultima's profile, save Top Gear freagin' messing it up and might even get played on Top Gear as an article?
Could even cut to the Factory's Shumey look-a-likey slipping a set of white Stig overalls over his Ferrari reds. And then stepping into the Ult!

There is a show/prog that is for kit built products but it is on Sky. It's called "A car is born" and they have covered a Lotus 7 look-a-like, Pilgrim Sumo, chopper bike, small fixed wing plane and helicopter. Top Gear is an entertainment program with a lot of cars in it. All the other stuff the presenter do is in a similar vein and is designed to be controversial and sell their "product" ie themselves. They need manufacturers to supply cars for them to play with so are unlikely to upset them too much.
Petrol heads know about the Ultima, chavs and boy racers probably don't and the general public almost certainly don't, but does that matter. We now know how an Ultima GTR720 compares to all the exotic stuff out there and that's the important thing from our point of view.
There is precious little worth watching on the TV these days and Top Gear is usually quite entertaining but you just have to know that it is bias and not take it seriously IMO.

In a time of this recession, I really feel the guys at top gear have not got a clue as to the general view of the public. They, last night slated a kit car, a car British made kit car, as being a heap of junk when clearly it was not but decided in the interest of a joke to show a bad bias view against the worldwide supercars.... Did it really break down due to brakes or due to the engine failure they caused???? I really feel it is in the best interest to promote a British car, and if it’s not quite up to scratch you don’t slag it off but give a neutral view…..
It is clear these people who influence the British public are now not doing a motoring program, but a comedy show and it’s about time this ended immediately. Just because some of the smaller companies like Ultima and Hawk don’t send them on lavish trips and fill the palms of their hands with bribes does not mean the can publically slag off a good product like a kit car......I'm sorry but 90% of the public can’t afford the dream cars they take as reality... Get real and show a real show for a proper motorist.........
It is now public that the Ultima car has smashed the top gear lap record (all be it they don’t want to show it) and the joke is now on the BBC for not publishing it.... I would certainly like to know where my license fee is going as I hope it is not Top gear!!!!!!!!!

Lucky P As usual makes a hell of a point. I also went to Hawk/ Stratos web site. I have a long and deep intrest in Group B cars. The web site they present needs a lot of work. I gather they make a nice kit that people have built and our happy with but first impressions count and I would not buy thier kit without seeing further proof that they have a clue. Lee
