What's soft is the cup is too small!
Little girly looking thing and 50% of the contents evaporate before reaching your mouth.
That's why I gave my second mug to MJP Mark!

Oil Filter sounds the way to go, preferably with bits of metal in (common for us who don't run dry sumps).
