I've mailed Stack but I had a long wait last time I did that so:

1. What size fuse did you install on the power lead for the dash?

2. Is there a way to dim the lights in the dash?

3. May I buy fuel pressure sensor and add it to my dash (didn't purchase dash with it)?

There is no way to dim the backlight. I was advised to form a larger lip to the cowel to help prevent it reflecting onto the screen.
I believe you have to buy the dash with the fuel pressure option configured. You will have to wait for their reply to find if this could be retrofitted/configured.
While you wait try Ted and Co. they have fitted a few Stacks and may have encountered this.

1. 5 amp fuse would be enough. The unit draws very little.
2. I've talked to the factory about this, and it can be done they think, but with a lot of work. You have 2 problems at night with the lighting if you're using the large windscreen.
The display is bright and affects your night vision. What I intended to try, but never thought about it until I was driving in the dark, is to simply put a piece of coloured transparent tape over the digital display.
The other problem is you get a blue reflection off the windscreen that hits you about eye level.
3. Fuel pressure is taken from the outside air temperature input. Stack can set you up with the proper sender. For fuel injection, it's the same one as the oil pressure sender.

Although fiddly, couldn't you just put a dimmer switch in the dash lights? Can't be too hard, just fiddly. Although I'd guess Stack wouldn't be too happy with having the unit opened up.......

when we bought ours, we sepcced it as the air temp version, not fuel pressure. To get fuel pressure we were told the unit had to go back to stack and have the software changed. Didn't ask the cost, went and got an RS industrial pressure gauge instead for £15.

The Stacks dash has a white face as standard. I went for the Black face and find it very good day or night. There is no reflection on the windscreen at night. I have it mounted in a standard factory binnacle. I find the back light is set at a reasonable intensity and would have no need to brighten or dim it. I have done quite a few miles at night and after hearing everyone else's problems would strongly recommend the Black face.

Have white face ST8130 and have had no problems with day or night driving. It's fairly bright I'll grant you, but personally, I like it like that

I have the black faced dash.

The fat lady is definately humming, very close to starting the car.

More questions:

1. The single long unlabled wire on the Stack loom must be the coil wire for the tach, correct?

2. I'm planning on attaching it directly to the MSD box tach output, correct?

3. How many amps for the fuse on the Stack dash.

4. Does it make a difference which terminal I connect the positive wire on the Accusump?

5. Anyone interested in a Ultima GTR wiring harness? The combination of Stack dash, no A/C, no windshield washer and no fog lights means that I'm using about 30% of the connections on the harness. I routed it to allow for easy repair and...removal (through the storage bins).

1. On my Stack the cable is marked ES. It is a screened 2 core of red and black. You only need to connect the black.
2. I have connected mine to the tach output on the 6AL but not run it yet.
3. 3 to 5 amp should do it. I didn’t fuse mine.
4. No. live to one earth to the other.
5. Already got one.
