Problem with stickies == Stig

Hi Stig,

Looks like a small problem with the stickies. When you access a reply to one of the topics there, for example http://pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f...
it seems to come back on the front page. Is this normal and expected??

Yup

The 'combined stickies' just links to the various threads. Whilst they're active (ie. someone replies to an old one) then it will appear on the front page like any new or amended thread. From there, it's the slippery slope back to the depths of the forum until someone else 'discovers' it

That's a good idea that. Keeps 'em where you need 'em, but alerts you to when a post is active. Nice.

Stig would it be possible you could put the Cholmondley Padget thred in the stickie section so it reminds everyone...

just like Le Mans its an Ultima get to gether and once over the stickie will be gone....

5 cars so far including the factory record car...

Stricly speaking Dom, promotion of events in the forum is against the posting rules anyway (but it's for a good cause so I turn a blind eye).

Stickying it too would be pushing it

What about the annual FOD? Isn't that also somewhat promotion of an event, or what about the kit car show, etc?

Bit different as the FOD is solely an Ultima affair and is not for profit (no entrance tickets etc.). Yes of course it's to attract buyers for the factory, but owners use it as an excuse to meet up and to take advantage of the factory's sarnies etc.

On top of being a good occasion to meet and chat with others, FOD is also tons of food at all hours for the visitors
