Hi,
Just found this board and would like to say what wealth of info is here. I have a couple of questions on getting an Ultima through a Smog Check and registration in the P.R.C. (People's Republic of California). I do not own one now (and may never, due to a continueing home remodel and business start-up) but am interested in what problems are likely to be faced.
Thanks,
Dave
Any owners in the San Francisco/San Jose or N.Cal. area ? Would love to have a look and I will bring my own micro-fiber drool remover!

Steve,
Thnk you for the link, I did not see that topic. I do envy you UK folk, being only several hours from the factory and all. Also, a big "thumbs up" for all you build journal scribes! Your notes, pic's and bloodied knuckles make the process much more.. realistic(?) or possibly understandable, I donno which.
Anyway thanks again,

Dave

Yes, being over there you will miss out on the physical and emotional trauma of a test drive with Ted.

If you do decide to build then feel free to regard this forum as the 'Ultimate' build manual.

Dave good luck with the build - if you go ahead. There seems to be quite a few USA cars now, which is great.
As far as us UK guys being lucky though... I would swap Ted and the factory for some of that SUNSHINE you guys get anyday! I have the Ultima Spyder, the one without the roof! perfect for the UK weather!. Good luck anyway.

I had the fortune of a test drive with Richard a few years back when I was in the UK. You know you're in for a ride when the cover the seat with a rubber bedsheet...

Don't get me wrong, it's the most fun I have had with my clothes on!

The factory reported to me recently that there are over 50 Ultima cars in the USA.
