Hi everyone,
I have been a lurker here for a while - keeping up on the latest happenings.
A couple of people one here may know me already from a long time back.
I have bought and sold cars and motorbikes as part of my hobby interests since i was 17 , mainly american stuff, trans ams, camaros, then moving on to more classic american stuff 50s caddys and harleys.I would often buy a couple of cars and use them until i got bored then sell them on and buy another.
I was first interested in Ultimas when ted marlows first mk3 sport (i think) appeared on the front of kitcar magazine with a full spread inside.
A few years later i started piecing together a few nice parts to build a rather special car ( a number of them were eventually bought by GTWAYNE and were used on his GTW...... dont know whether he used one of my chassis or not.)
I also got to meet and discuss my plans with some rather interesting and clever people...one of them being Steve Smith (hows that mclaren F1 replica coming on then Steve??) . I lost touch with a guy who was planning substantial body mods to his gtr and sadly i cant even remember his name - would love to have found out what happened to his plans...

Unfortunatley as happens to a lot of us i had "woman trouble" for a while which caused me to sell all the ultima stuff - we split amicably ....until she spoke to her girlfriends at work , then wanted to take me to the cleaners... then came back saying she was pregnant - what a year that was ffs.
She is now my wife, so i cant say much more.. lol.

I am not in any great hurry, but i have decided together with another family memeber to once again find something interesting and am on the lookout for something nice - lm3000,ultima or similar.... thinking of maybe something track only...but not 100% certain on that atm...

I had been in discussion with fran regarding an slc, but all the hoo-haaa surrounding the "aspira" sort of put me off...together with the drastic fall in the exchange rate £ to $...

hi dom,
seen it, but cant quite work it out as i am sure its the very same car that was advertised the other year and sold for almost double the auction estimate.
It does seem cheap...

to say i was gutted in selling up is an understatement, but at least the choice tasty bits went to someone who used them in the way they were intended.
And Wayne was actually the most genuine bloke who called me with interest.
I am still baffled by his choice to remove the dymag labels.. laugh
(ooooh... just found the smilies list...)biglaugh

I think we likely caused a few raised eyebrows exchanging rolls of green for rather large boxes of dymags in the service station carpark... laugh

Auctions always attract buyers by giving lower valuations as potential bidders go there thinking they will get a bargain and get swallowed up in the auctioning process. However there is a fairly small market for a race only type of car and you might find there wont be many people bidding... The estimated price is usually the reserve price too....i dont think this would take alot to make it road legal too... Ive been looking at the pictures and the aero mods.. The wing looks alot further back than normal and id love to know what exhausts are fitted as they look very level and if i fitted silencers there id have a chassis in the way...

the rear of the chassis was likely modded for the sequential box and suspension anyway.

I think Kyle (LS3) knows of a pretty good car that may be coming up for sale soonish. Built to a high spec with a supercharged motor. Probably around 50K plus though.
