Word of warning
Discussion
If anyone was looking to copy the layout of oil pipes, remote filter & oil stat pictured on my site be warned that the exhaust header fouls the oil pipes as they come over the chassis rail and into the stat. I have been working this evening on a new layout.
I now need a remedy for unsightly redundant rivet holes. Anybody proffering a solution will instantly give away the fact that they also had something to hide.

Some of that epoxy putty body filler stuff and a careful skim of black gloss? I settled for a couple of stainless rivets to at least fill the holes...and carry my scars with pride!
I had issues installing my oilstat as well as you might gather so I feel your pain. It gets to be quite a complex 3D jigsaw puzzle at times and the full ramifications don't always become apparent until you get the whole engine together. The second car will be perfect!

I fill the "extra" holes with rivets also. There are several on the car. I have the same oil t-stat and used the heavy, vinyl coated Aeroquip clamps and an small alloy panel to provide a mounting base on one of the pipes for the left side engine mount. The stat is aligned with the long axis of the car and the hose loops over the frame lateral to the alternator.
Don't sweat those rivets, they won't make any difference in the strength of the chassis and the people that see your car will have their eyes full of other stuff.
