Schroth Harness/AIM

Hi folks,

I have not posted for a while, but once more, I need your help!

Right now I'm collecting "small" parts for the Ultima. I would like to use Schroth Harness, but It's incredible the amount of models that they provide. I was wondering if anybody have them, and which particular harness. (thinking about using 6 point).

Also, anybody using the AIM pista display?

I have not yet purchased my belts from Schroth, but had spent some time researching. It has been a couple months now, so all of the details that lead me to this decision are a little fuzzy. One of the things I was looking for was a 6-point with the release on the lap belt, so that I could choose to stow and not use the crotch strap for normal street use if I chose. Discussion with the guys at Schroth pointed me in the direction of the the Profi II ASM line. This version has an anti-submarine feature built into the shoulder belt for added safety when crotch straps are not in use. I ended up adding the SR20001 & SR25001 4-point models to my shopping list, and will add the SR49002K dual anti-sub straps.

I am interested to know how your install goes if you get there first. Keep me posted.

Lots of poeple used the Aim dash units now.....

I have installed Schroth 6 point Profi II-6 with the 75mm wide shoulder straps, they fit the Utlima seats but it is tight.
If all the holes in the seats would be larger that would be a big help............factory that is for you (-:
They are probably the best harness available I am very happy with them.

clive have you an online wiring diagram for fitting the 'Aim' tio the ultima dash as im looking at one in a couple of weeks??

Hi Guys

Right when you have installed the aim dash with the indicator setup. What size steering wheel did you go for? My setup really does restrict my view of the dash at present.

Sorry to disappoint but the Aim got all it's Info from the Motec M800 ECU via a 2 wire Can Line, the only dash connections where a Neg and 12v.... I believe that Aim now can do the same with GM ECU if you going LS motor..

Yes the button on the top turns it on and off..... but may I make it quite clear that I had nothing to do with it, except for fitting it..... NOT MY IDEA....... if you press it twice it flashed.....

Oi oi oi!, steady on there fella's , that gear knob was a counter joke to Clives's original suggestion (you know what I am talking about my funny shaped friend ), although I have to say that since getting in touch with my inner self I now almost like it

kikets: I would suggest that you consider belts with pull up adjustment. This puts the adjuster near the mount point and keeps all the extra strap lenght away from the central release point. The Willians system offered by the factory is a pull down system with the adjusters and the extra belt lenght in your lap. I use a Sparco set up for the driver that I feel is easier to use because all the straps aren't in the way. For the passenger I will probably use a 6 point pull up system and not use the sub belts as often because of the adjustment problem from passenger to passenger. For now I have the Willians system on that side but my wife finds it hard to get it tight enough to feel secure. Or maybe its my driving that makes her insecure, I will have to ponder that one. Lee

I have their RAMPAC system and I'm very happy with it. They can provide full protection for pelvic, chest and sternum areas. In fact they produce harness systems for jet pilots. Not sure if already FIA approval.
Regarding Schroth I choosen the PROFI V with push buckle for my road car and have found lots of failures in the push system. CLUBMAN II-6 fitted on my Cobra and it goes perfect. Visit http://www.msar-safety.com/
About AIM Pista.....well it looks very "fashion" and race styled but you will need to fit it on your steering wheel for a good vision. As most of liquid displays it is very sensible to direct sunlight which is usual into the Ultima cockpit. I would go for a STACK with analogic RPM. My 2 cents.

exactly the reason why I went for the Digidash, the bright LEDs always provide the info no matter how much sunlight goes there.
