has any body used willwood brakes
Discussion
I have heard stories of willwoods being very soft, but I can’t verify it, Door stop was also used in the same story.
They have different ranges of callipers, some are cast some are machined so i’m not sure which ones were being referred to.
Apparently a motorsport mag tested some callipers a while back, using a hydraulic handbrake lever, a line pressure gauge, and were measuring the flex in that calliper bodies at different pressures. The theory was that that better callipers exhibited less flex for a given line pressure.
Like i said, i have only heard about the article, but haven’t seen it.
Nothing stopping you replicating the test. Maybe offer to a local motorsport mag to write up the test yourself, and see if you can organise a range of callipers to be tested. You might find that some people in a local club would be willing to donate/loan some callipers for the test, or some manufactures even willing to get on board if they thought it was worth it.
Would piston-heads sanction such an article?
I would be interested in reading it
