Started the car last PM and it actually ran. Prior to that I provided the factory staff some entertainment. I hooked up the accusump to the green wires on the flasher relay and not the green wires on the fuse box. The result: I'm talking with David at the factory trying to figure out why the solenoid on the accusump keeps going on/off. The loudest thing about the car wasn't the exhaust, it was the fuel pumps. They sound miserable back there.

It was a great day. Whats left: fine fitting of doors, fixing a few wires to the chassis, fitting the heater control valve, fitting the mirrors, rear wing and hiring somone to fit the windshield. I'm going to alter the accusump connections to allow closing the solenoid when the oil pressure is high.

Many thanks to the factory and members of this board for your help.

I would rather start the car with a pressure of 60 in the accusump than 30.

I fitted the toggle switch that came with my accusump so that I can turn it off at will. This is great for knocking the solenoid off as you describe when the pressure is higher. The other thing that it allows is turning on the ignition without losing your accusump charge.

It shouldn't matter too much if you turn it off a little early either. According to the docs the solenoid valve acts as a one way valve when de-energised so as long as engine oil pressure is more than the accusump it will keep topping it up.

So your saying that your Idle pressure is 30, mine never gets below 45 even at 800rpm. That would explain it.

Ken was referring to the Accusump air pressure not the indicated engine oil pressure. I find that the two seem to differ quite a lot particularly when the oil is cold and more viscous.

Just for refferance what air pressure do you set them at ? ie. When there is no oil in them.

The instructions say take to 50psi then back off to 7psi. That is probably just initial setup.
Mine is still as supplied sitting at 7psi.

Yep. That's what I did. I also preoiled my engine before I first started it by 2/3rds filling the accusump with oil then pumping to 50 psi. There was an muffled splurtching noise as I turned on the ignition as it filled all the air in the pipes...oil pressure came up nice and quickly though.

It drives! Drove the car around the house, lots of fun. I need a pedal stop for the clutch, if I push to far the clutch make a clicking sound. I couldn't get into reverse....until I put the sticker on the shift knob and remembered where it was located. What an idiot.

You can adjust the actuating arm on the clutch master cylinder to stop this.
