It means 'Bridge to Gantry'.
You can't do a full lap of the circuit on a public session so it is the first landmark as you enter the track and get up to speed then the last point before you have to come in.

Well, I can start the ball rolling, with the stunning time of 9minutes 50sec after 3 laps.....absolute crap time but I'm no Ringmeister. Surely there are some better times hiding out there driving

Heading there w/e 8th May with my Brother.

We've hired a Megane R26 race car for the public day but may head down in the Ultima.
I also have a full in-car camera/lap system BUT.....my GTR needs some bits doing to it first before it's ready (new tyres, gearbox mount & various electrical gremlins sorted) so may end up going in the M5 instead --Sorry.

I did 9.45 in a CSL and that felt brisk rather than balls out fast. I think the GTR can easily do a sub 9 time but I just don't know the track well enough.

might be of interest andy at GD cars has some new footage of a customer t70 from the ring just done very recently. i'd have thought an ultima would do very similar times, 7mins odd upto 8s depending on driver.

think this lap was 7.45ish with 177mph gps top speed during lap. ls 7 engined car. :-)

I think it was 7:28 BTG but it is cheating a bit because he is not
starting from the TF entrance but coming full speed along DH.

I don't have the skill to be sliding at those speeds at 1.00mins in, 4.00mins in (compression lock) and 6.28mins.

hes certainly a good driver with decent size balls of steel!
one of the "catch it " moments is quite scary and not far from losing it, big respect at those speeds especially at the ring. i've been in that car when it was in the uk and its devastatingly fast. my GD t70 is about 450-500bhp and its enough for me at this time!

Ok so it seems that either not many Ultima owners drive the Ring or
if they do, they drive slowly. I can surely understand that people
go slow when they have spent months/years building the cars.

I would however be very interested in knowing what laptimes are
possible for a properly driven Ultima..... smile

Well, emmmm.....9:32 from BILSTEIN bridge to AUDI bridge. My first lap 3 years ago with some extra traffic, a small underneath damage at the Carrussel and a frightened passenger. Despite the dramatic sensations from the wide angle lens it was a slow lap. After +30 laps I think I'm going over one minute faster (depending on traffic).
Cheers
