Okay guys ....

Have been roaming round the net for some Chevy embossed rocker covers and have found these below, plus lots of other goodies ....

www.proformparts.com/catalog/chrome/gm.html

Before I wade in and hand over my credit card details I need to ascertain the difference between "short" and "tall" covers ... and more importantly am I commiting a cardinal sin by replacing the ones supplied with the enigine from AS.

Cheers

If the engine is early then it will need the 4 bolts around the edge rather than 2 centre bolts.
If the engine has standard heads and pressed steel 1.5 rockers then the short will do. If it has aftermarket heads with roller rockers then you probably need the tall ones. If still in doubt then go for the tall ones. There is no space problem and the more chrome the better.
If you don't like what AS are supplying then tell them what you want, its your engine so why should you pay for something twice.

Cheers Steve,

... have roller rocker arms so it looks like "tall" will be needed. To be fair I could get originals polished and chromed which is how I have seen some of the newer cars. If I had specced the motor from new I would have asked AS for something along those lines but as it stands I am just a lucky 2second hand" owner.

Thanks again Steve.

Right .... where's that credit card!

Don't bin or cut up the originals as I believe they are in demand by those who want to go back to original.
