I was lucky to be able to take Shauns LS3 powered GTR to Stoneleigh this weekend and i was simply gobsmacked by the 27mpg it achieved!!! I drove the car in normal Ultima style and covered 198 miles over the weekend and it used £40 of unleaded. The car is also still running a little rich(mot tester checked the CO, Hydrocarbons and Lambda) so i hope with a little further mapping we could achieve even better MPG.
I was amazed at how pleasant the car was to drive in town at 30-40 mph with no stalling or drama. I did not want to stop driving to be honest, it was so much fun. An Ultima GTR with a LS is imo an awesome package and i cant wait to get my car finished and on the road.

Interesting and nice to hear that an Ultima can achieve this kind of consumption level. That should keep som of the Green Lobby at bay for a while. Now, how about an "Economy Run" someone?? getmecoat

Sounds good 27 mpg

however my round trip of 178 miles cost me 40.63 litres which is 20.4 mpg on a carb'd AS 565hp engine..

i got 22mpg on the way down at cough cough 70mph but averaged 20.4 after the return jouney at £"$ mph on the motorway.....not 70!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

looks like my carb settings are starting to look good!!!! great mpg on the motorway but on mainroads, not so good....

but prefer injection in the future which is the route ill be going in a few years if i dont go the diesel route biggrin
