Started my engine for the first time today !! Had a bit of battery trouble to start with, don't think the factory battery is man enough had to jump start it. Only let it tick over for 10 mins then it started to get a bit smelly in my factory. What did consern me a bit was how hot the cats got is that normal?

What is the engine...................was it built/specified for cat use ?

Hi Adam

Yes cats do get very hot and it's normal. In the pic below of a GD T70 you can see the heatshields around the cats.

Id have hot cats with an intake heater that long !

Engine is LS7 from Mast 650bhp will ask them today about cats

Had the electrician out today, he thinks the starter is drawing far to muck power so has taken it away to open it up
