When I sold my Ultima Sports back in 2006 there were loads of Ultimas for sale, now hardly any, how comes? Can't be the recession that makes people keep their cars, any ideas??

Two lads brought the Lime Green one, then blew the engine up on it...Kyle did a bit of work on it as I recall.

My GTR's coming up for sale in near the future I can't take it to Australia (moving in Jan), average body but LS2 install and all the other good bits.

Not fussed at the moment though as the weather is too good and I've been using it a bit smile

nice with a LS2, I would be scared of a bit with the old engine's.

also it seems that the are offered at higher prices then a year and more ago when some were pretty cheap.
sadly the LHD Ultima's GTR with modern engines like LS1<>7 and audi V8 or BMW V8 are very expensive.

cheap a year ago due to the resession.

i nearly bought a porsche 996 turbo this time last year and they have gone up 10k since, so as i bought my GTR instead I feel the prices have risen accordingly.

Just like houses and shares , if only we had known!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well at least there is a 1997 sports for sale, not that much different from a GTR really... (used to own a 98 sports), wonder if it's possible to get larger rims on that thing, 15" looks weird!

Well I always thought in the back of my mind that it would be the building of it, rather than the driving of it, that would appeal to me - and that has turned out to be the case. I just don't expect to drive it much and I really would like to do another project - although I don't know what, as yet - so it would be nice if it could go to a new owner who really wants to use it, as it deserves to be used !

Yes - that's right - it has an LS7 - some pictures of the engine are in the advert.

Sold my Sports about five years ago for £22k and it subsequently went on sale for £18k not long after. Wouldn't get them at that price now

With hindsight, I really wish I'd hung onto it but I wanted something a little more user-friendly and usaeble. So what did I buy...a TVR Tuscan. Never again...has to be one of the most unreliable cars I've ever owned and it used to stress me out every time I drove the thing!!

So now I look at the ads for GTRs and wonder if I might take the plunge again. Everybody loves an Ultima - I even got stopped by The Plod on a trip to Wales just so they could have a look over it.

And the trip to Le Mans organised by the Ultima Club was just awesome. But, you know, a couple of guys took theirs along and kept them under covers the whole time. Maybe I wasn't suppoed to drive mine in the rain?

Talking of Le Mans - really wish I was going this weekend to cheer on Nige !!

5 years ago for 22.000gbp ...
those days you still can get that for the same car.

Ultima GTR is also still on my list (among 6 or so other special cars), though most are RHD, there are a few LHD in Germany but very expensive and then I still have to pay special tax when I bring it to the Netherlands.
so I wait for my moment, first have to sell my car though.

yep, I remember you. I sold the car cheap as I decided to go to the US, now I'm back and searching (again) :-)

Car was bought by another guy here on PH, if I recall correctly his name was Eddie, I might be wrong though :-)

It may not be of much interest to those of you on the other side of the Atlantic, due to differences in vehicle registration requirements, exchange rates, shipping costs, etc., but I have put up an ad in the classifieds for my LHD Ultima GTR located in San Diego, CA, since there are some of us Yanks occasionally frequenting the Pistonheads site.

Link to ad.
