I was playing around with some of the wiring last night and when I flipped on the turn signal, the light came on and stayed on, it didn't flash. I only have the front left light attached, if that makes any difference. I guess what I am asking is did ultima build in a turn signal flasher or do you have to keep flipping the switch? Same question for the hazard lights.

The flasher should operate with as little as the side repeaters connected. I found it wasn't too interested when it was just the indicator/hazard tell-tales on the dash. Double check the relay (it was a simple 2-wire device on my loom) it may have slipped out. The wiring of the hazard switch may not be correct either as the indicator switch circuit is routed through there.
I installed the hazard switch last night, with the switch off the turn signal light still comes on and stays on. If I turn the hazard switch on the relay makes a horrible buzzing noise. The wires going into the plug on the back of the switch where not the way the manual said they should be. Not sure if the factory wired the plug wrong of the manual is wrong. Even after rewiring the plug the relay still made the buzzing noise. I guess I'll try replacing the relay.

The flasher system has 2 flasher units. The one on the end is the indicators the unit 2 along is the hazard flasher. Both units are identical.
For indicators. Ign. switched green + goes into unit (pin 49) --- Lt. Green/brown out (pin 49a) to hazard sw. If off, it then continues to the indicator sw and then to left or right indicators where it goes to earth.
Hazard. Permanent live Purple into unit (pin 49) --- Green/pink out (pin 49a) to hazard sw. if sw is on then it comes out on green/red (left) and green/white (right) also green/white to the warning light inside the sw.
So following that logic if you tried the indicators without the hazard switch in circuit then nothing should have happened. If it tried to flash then you have some wires crossed somewhere.
If none of this makes sense, shout and I will try again.

Thanks for the info. I just replaced both flasher units and everything works. Maybe the two switched wires on the back of the hazard switch fried both units.
Just FYI for the US guys you can replace the flasher units with a 12V 3 terminal Tridon Stant flasher (part #EP35) available at advanced auto parts. Its physical size is smaller but the pins line up.

This is a little off topic. I am planning to build a GTR and will probably make these for the mirrors.
I don't want to infringe on the rules of the board, but let me know if anyone is interested and I will see what I can do...

Can you do the mirror de-fog as well on Ultima Glass ?
and why is there a control unit, is the supply not taken directly from the flasher relay on-off-on etc?
Hey Clive,
Yes, I can do the de-fog. It requires a switched 12v circuit. I cannot do the "auto-dimming". I can also etch just about any design or quote into the glass; like "OBJECTS IN MIRROR ARE LOOSING".
Though, there is no control unit (yet). That will be for the next version, which will allow any blink pattern (much later).
