Hi

Can anyone tell I what additional modifications were made to Ultima Chassis from the sports to the GTR? I have a chance a buying a 1997 sport chassis which has virtually been standing from new. It has had the engine mount adaption done to take SBC but is there any other modification and registering issues I need to be aware of if I were to build a new GTR from this chassis?

Sport to GTR alterations were minimal. The Rad mounting and front chassis section were altered slightly and there were some minor bracket changes for door stuts etc. All from memory so I may be wrong in the detail but basicly very little. Spaek to the factory. I do know of at least one owner who built a GTR on a Sport chassis at the time.

Front radiator frame is different but can be changed easily, also there are the Door ram support bars and rear clip pivot mounts but also easy to add.

Thanks for the info guys. Not sure it is worth messing with unless the sport chassis is at a good price. I guess these alterations are a good few hundred quid? Your pic shows a changed front rad section so I guess I wuld need all the factory dims etc.

Guys Many thanks for your replies. I spoke with Ultima today and they confirmed all you say about the sport/GTR chassis. Also a possible clash with the roll bar due to double skin on GTR and dash support also a little different. Quoted 900 to recitfyto GTR from the factory.
