Know where to get brake bells made?

Hello,

Need to find a UK engineering shop who can make some one off brake bells (have engineers drawing) that will go on an Esprit V8 GT. Have the 330mm disks, just need bells. Am in a hurry and don't know anyone!

I would try the brake people first (AP Brembo etc.). They may have what you want on the shelf or easily modified. Failing that they certainly know how to do the job without asking silly questions. They will also stock the correct grade material and in the right billet sizes.

Sadly we've done the rounds of usual suspects but the common problem comes down to:

Making one-offs for a sensible price - and within the next 2 weeks!

I've had custom brake bells and adapters made up by BG developments, good work for a reasonable price. Need to keep on top of them though if you're in a hurry.

Just a warning about Godspeed. Make sure you go up there on a pre-arranged date to collect and raise hell if the stuffs not ready. Mail order is a waste of time, quoted delivery 10days, actual delivery time 5 1/2 months, only came through with the kit after threatening legal action.

BG are your best bet if you can wait i have had lots made by BG and wouldnt use any one else.Quality etc is spot on never had any probs

Not a dumb question. You either know something or you don't. The dumb bit is not having the balls to ask.

A brake bell is the bell shaped bit that mounts the brake disc (rotor US) to the wheel bearing hub. In many production cars the bell is an integral part of the disc. In performance cars they are normally separate so that you only need replace the actual disc when it is worn.

Other reasons for them being separate are that the disc and bell can be different material. The production car one piece will likely be cast iron, hard wearing, tough and cheap but heavy.
In the separate the bell will be some alloy depending how light you want to be. The disc will be steel or carbon.
