thanks, the registration has taken longer than building the car..........

That's typical bureaucracy in its finest. However, congrats on getting the Can-am road registered and enjoy without too much speeding....

Congratulations Uwe, but why was it so long ?
I don't even think to do so in France...

collect the car tomorrow from my "specialist". Big wad of money will exchange hands too.

ok i am back no crashes but drove with a dead optima battery and needed start help twice - once at the gas station very embarassing !
Battery probably has seen a deep discharge and is maybe lost, the alternator could not charge it while driving and i have the faint idea one cell is gone. the car worked flawlessly after half year of standing around.
So it seems the yellow tops do not really like deep discharges, battery is gone it does not charge anylonger, thanks to my "specialist" who obviously did not bother to remove the battery leads or hang a charger to the car while sitting and waiting for registration.
A small load is already resulting in a huge drop of voltage. Very odd I thought this is what these batteries are good at ?

ok the new battery is installed and it seems that the first one was no good from start. The new one cranks the engine like hell even with the radiators on. That is making confidence !
You asked for pics, here they are

Congratulations! That is one very nice looking machine and from we have been reading, you are going to enjoy it every possible moment. No rear wing installation? Vents replacing the wing?
Now I have no excuse for a little trip up to your region to see the beast. My wife is more inclined to the Can-Am, while I'm for the GTR wink As I'm going to be living south of the Alps (Ticino) in less than 2 years from now, it can get rather hot there and that could justify the open body. We will see scratchchin . However, an other solution would be to get the two versions eek

you really do not want a GTR, the canam is already a good heater by itself and I cannot really imagine driving this car with a roof on............my wife is for sure enjoying the warm breeze coming from the front.
