Search function down for maintenance and I'm struggling to identify the AP Caliper type the factory supplies. Anyone online that can answer what the AP caliper designated part # is as it looks like pads are sold by match to caliper type.?

I have local track days I can attend tomorrow/Sunday and in doing the shakedown I have rear pads down to the wire. I'm in the US and struggling to find a brake pad match that is available, despite having Summit Racing on my doorstep.

Thanks for any help,
Julian

My understanding is that the caliper kits are put together by AP for Ultima so have no part numbers marked on them.
The closest you will get is to troll through the AP catalogue and try to find a pad profile match.

Calipers are standard (CP5200) and available from AP but the discs are unique to ultima. Below is some info on the discs fron AP acouple of years ago.

The Ultima disc was produced as a bespoke design, more than likely due to
wheel restrictions. I expect the wheel came before the brakes were devised,
hence we probably shoe horned in the largest possible at the time.
Not only is the O322mm diameter none standard but more of a problem is the
30mm thickness. This makes it fairly unique.
Having done a search on all discs using the 12 bolt 203.2mm (8.0") PCD bell
fixing, I can only find a O325x28mm, O330x28mm, both suit your radial pad
depth of 50mm but are not the correct width for the caliper. We do not list
another disc with a 30mm thickness in this range! Neither do we a grooved
version of the CP3581-1048/9RD. We did list a G8 option but due to lack of
sales in the past 3 years we no longer do so. We would require a batch order
of 10 prs to re-instate them,

So, if I understand correctly, you need to go through the Factory to get new discs and pads.

Pads are for the caliper and not the disc so freely available from many manufacturers. Factory or any AP supplier can get the discs- factory were cheaper than a couple of people I asked but the weight of this discs has an impact on getting them delivered.

The pad shape is the following AP shape CP3215D50 (please check this)

I run Pagid RS14 Black (Ceramic). The PN on the box is E136114010, check but I think you need to order 2 sets as 1 box = 1 axle set. What ever you do DON’T mix different types of pads.

I’ve used these before in other track cars and they are in my opinion (brake pads being a personal choice) are REALLY good. Very high initial bite, great modulation, and fantastic fade resistance.

I also spoke to the people, I think they are based in Florida, from Pagid Racing and they recommended the RS14 compound as it what a lot of the Daytona Prototypes run.

Of course you can get pads from EBC, PFC, Ferodo.

As other have said the pad style is CP3215D50 and the calliper type is CP5200.

Here is more info from the Demon Tweeks website to help you in your search.

Good luck

Thanks guys, great info as always.

I see I can get EBC, Hawk or Wilwood pads through Summit Racing, but I think I'll give the Pagid guys a call. I have been happy with the factory Mintex 1166 pads, but as usual shipping costs from the UK on heavier items makes a stateside alternative a lot more attractive.

Let's hope I don't have to replace discs any time soon....

If you need the PN for the EBC tell me what colour you're looking for and I should be able to find it in the cateloge.

Good Morning!

the correct part number for a left front brake caliper is:
Part # CP5200-825S4 (Front, left hand, trailing mount, black finish, Yellow AP racing logo).
If you wish to confirm the CP # is correct then it will be etched on your caliper body.

The 4-piston front kit uses a caliper from the CP5200 family hence, it is not a stock item and needs to be ordered.
Estimate 6-weeks delivery from date of order.

Pads supplied from Ultima for the AP brakes are Ferodo DS2500. Similar both front and rear. Available in US from Raceshopper.com in New York. Very nice people to deal with, and they were in stock when I bought a set. Price per set in August was $122.00 ea.
