Anybody out there have experience with a 'flipped' 930 gearbox in an Ultima - ours is hooked to a Porsche 6-cyl and we're having problems getting enough throw to disengage the clutch.
Thanx ... Ed ( propricer ) Ducey

Have you converted to hydralic actuator?

If it is hydraulic then it sounds like a change of master or slave cylinder diameter is called for.

Also check with some of the Porsche gearbox sites. The G50 'box has seen more than one actuating lever designs but not sure if the ratio changed.

Yes, it IS hydraulic activation.

So, how were the master and slave cylinders chosen?

I have the 930 box and converted it to hydraulics, I recently took some pics so could send you them if you e-mail me through my profile.

Basically you will need 12mm (ish) of movement on the thrust bearing..... I used a lotus slave that pushes on the modifed mechanism on the outside of the box.

The box has been absolutelly 100% but was a pain to get the clutch aligned when it was partially worn...

Are you using a push or pull configuration on your 930 application ???
What size master / slave did you end up with ... we are experimenting with a master of 3/4" or 5/8" and a slave of 3/4" or 7/8".
Measured a stock 930 and the throw required for that was 3/4" which is about 18mm.
Appreciate your help, by the way ... thanx ... Ed

Using a normal pull clutch..... in fact it is a standard porsche late 911turbo one.
I have a 1" slave and I'll have to check on the master but I think its a 3/4.

BTW, had major problems getting it all aligned up properly when the clutch was worn..... the sympton was a pedal that wouldn't depress properly, was rock solid and didn't engage enough to get in gear.

This dialog is very helpful.
What is the length of your clutch release arm ?
Slave doesn't even start to move until the master is half way down so we are wondering if we have a defective master - will replace with another to check it out.
Again, thanx for your help ... Ed

Finally found the problem. Turned out not to have anything to do with the master/slave but rather with the pressure plate binding and not allowing the clutch to release.
Appreciate the support from everyone.
