I sort of may have over tightened and snapped the wheel stud!

Worth checking that the stud is not bottomed out in the nut.

not had probs before, just me having to many shredded wheat i think!

You may not know.
You tighten the nut and the stud bottoms out in the nut but the wheel is not quite tight.
You would not really know as all felt tight.
