I have the stack dashboard and stalks from autobionics.
What shall I put on the dash: leather or alcantare?
Like both, pro's and contra's please.

What do you have and do you like it?

pictures are also welcome.

Leather is less forgiving when applying. Even application of the adhesive is essential.

Leather is not TOO difficult to do, but it is essential that you get an assistant, who knows what he is doing, and you supply him with choccie biscuits, tea and Pizza and beer for lunch... that's right isn't it Steve ? smile

Did you Gents use spray 'Trimmers adhesive' for this task or just impact type stuff ?

A 'steamer' is worth its weight in gold for leather. Alcontara is much easier to apply (as said above) but fades over time.

It's worth considering getting a trimmer to do it (especially leather!) after all, any crease/bump/f*** up will sit there niggling at you whenever you drive it smile

When I understand it right,
you recommend leather,
fitted by a specialised company.
I will do that, thanks.

The modern upgraded replacement for alcontara is Dinamica and claims to have fixed the fade problem.

It looks really good and unlike leather creates no reflections. Excellent touch and finish on the seats as well.

If it helps.... my seats (factory alcantara) are 12 years old now, they are getting a bit "furry" and so I am having them re covered. I found a great guy near fareham in surrey who is simply the best. He wil do mine with leather sides and alcantara centres, in black with red piping and ultima logos for about £500 the pair. They will be PERFECT.

If you need someone to sort your seats or dash I would recomend him. If nothing else he can get all types of leather (the cheap stuff with a grain, or the expensive with zero grain etc) and alcantara or look-a-like and you can fit yourself.
