What is the consensus on tyre pressures for road tyres for a track day in an Ultima?

Got my first track day tomorrow.

Cribbed this from a search......

This is where the factory recommended I start (Based upon their Top Gear record setting runs)

Ride height 110mm front, 160mm rear

Front negative camber increase from 1.5 to 2.0 degrees

Rear negative camber increase from 0.5 to 1.2 degrees.

Rear toe increase from 1mm to 2mm overall

Tyre pressures front 16psi rear 21psi hot (Tyres were the Kumho Ecsta V70A medium compound)

Dampers all set at 40 clicks (Intrax)

Track springs 25% stiffer

So 16 and 21 when hot.

(which means set them to this when cold, do a few laps, come in, take pressures, reduce back to 16/21, go out do a longer stint, come back, check, adjust etc.

Just watch out for your first few laps after lunch. You may find that your tyres have cooled to 12psi!!

Which track?

PS - Record is the red button....smile

Tyres are Toyo street tyres.

The front pressures are lower than I would have thought. I have a small compressor with me so I can play if need be.

No red button on my little digital camera but I get the message.

OK so I have to admit to a cock-up.

Camera in car, fully charged complete with SD card ready to go.

Pressed the buttons to record, as I thought, at the beginning of my second run and off again afterwards. Went to check the results on my laptop but had forgotten the cable. Bu**er. Never mind it's bound to be fine. Recorded two more runs.

Got home and tried to review my video only to find I had taken 3 very boring stills instead of video. To say I was miffed is an understatement but all my fault as if I had put my glasses on when switching on (and fully read the instructions) I would have got it right.

On a more positive note the car was great fun and very forgiving. I spun once (with instructor aboard) but it was very predictable even when power sliding out of bends. I have a couple of issues to resolve before the next outing. Front passenger side tyre rubbing on the wheel arch and an occasional hesitation (electrical I think).

The only quicker car there was another GTR but it was a Nissan one with 650-675hp and all the electrical gizmo's.

Apparently mine sounded great from the pit wall but I only just passed the noise test recording 105db.

If you haven't tried your Ultima on track all I can say is DO. It shows you what an awesome car you have.
