Being a bit bored, and seeing the "what's the lowest weight ultima" made me think about how much weight actually affects performance.

This site : http://www.letstorquebhp.com/calculator.asp

Not sure if it is accurate but....

EG: My spyder weighs 850kgs and was rolling roaded recently at 357.5 hp at the flywheel (zz4 carb SBC)

The calculator says:
Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 358
Weight without Driver (KG) : 850
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 427.94
0 - 60 (Secs) : 3.41
0 - 100 (Secs) : 8.00
60 - 100 (Secs) : 4.59
Quarter Mile (Secs) : 11.65
Terminal Speed (MPH) : 120.69
Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 11.55
Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 122.11

which is not far wrong. My best Qtr mile is 12 secs (slow reaction times etc?)

worth a play if your bored!

Kyle

A few of my mates have sub 10 second motors a few evo's a gembella turbo and a skyline. Dont think they have 850hp though, you sure thats right.?

Ill ask and see what they are running but seems a lot of hp for that time. Not my area of expertise i have to say.

ET is a product of driver skill etc, so can only be a rough estimate.
Terminal speed is largely down to outright BHP and weight.
