The car was built by Darren Gosbee, former "South East Coordinator" of the long defunct "Ultima Owners Club". An engineer by trade, the car was put together with meticulous attention to detail, indeed, fellow members of the South East Section doubted it would ever make it to the road, it was taking so long to build! It was originally black with a rather strange finish to the interior roof and doors, a grey/black sand paper like paint finish which Darren regretted the moment he applied it! I believe this has been replaced by subsequent owners. The electrically operated push button door openers were one of Darren's mods. The car was eventually registered, but Darren sold up and emigrated to the States shortly after.
I don't know the condition of the car now, but at the time Darren sold it, I would have had no reservations about buying it.

The Block is cast Ken, the race-version description is pretty much in line with Darts previous listing of their premium series Little M's....including Steel mains caps and four bolts across all five as opposed to cast caps and only three with four bolts which were used in their previous 'stock' Little M's. At the time of order this was their top line small block in stock configuration. The alloy ones seem to get varied write-ups although I have no experience with them. To be fair I think recently Dart have improved and expanded their block range even further.
The whole bottom end of the engine in the green car was initially spec'd for considerably higher output than ended up being built and includes great quality components, as does the rest of the engine....hence should be fine for the new owner.

Many of you know that this car is owned jointly by myself and Lawrence Curtis. We had put the car (known to us as Uma) up for sale because we needed the space and the capital. Over the weekend however some circumstances changed which will allow us to keep Uma in the stable. Consequently I have withdrawn the ad.
So thanks to those of you who expressed an interest and for your positive comments about the car. We look forward to seeing some of you again soon at a Goodwood Breakfast or one of the other events.
Cheers
Nick
