Acusump not working as should ??

Hi all, started engine after plumbing and wiring in acusump and i dont think its opperating as it should , iv gone for the system with electric valve controlled by oil pressure switch , pressured and set as per instruction manual , started engine watched air gauge on rear of acusump rise to 40 psi and then stop and settle at 35 psi ( my pressure switch is a 35/40 psi setting one )i am getting full oil pressure on dash gauge, and once i turned off engine air gauge dropped off to the 10 psi of the reconmended air cussion/pressure , when i then turned ignition back on (before cranking engine over )I didnt get any responce from oil light or pressure gauge , ( I checked and made sure power to valve on with ignition on and off with ignition off ) , iv checked valve as per instructions and it tells you the flow by the arrow on it , mine hasnt got an arrow its got in and out over each port , iv put the in coming from the hose/tee off and the out is next to the acusump , have i plumed in electric valve round the wrong way ?? any thoughts
