Hi

THIS IS NOT AN ADVERT!

I have just been advised yesterday that I have a rather bad cancer.

So after much thought, I am contemplating selling my partially complete Ultima - I was hoping to have it done by spring.

It has all of the build kits / stages from Ultima (I think anyway), has a new LS3 with all the bits and a $25k build CMS transaxle (G64/20) 6 speed built to take 1200 bhp. It has a Tilton triple plate carbon clutch (which was chosen because it is meant to be very progressive and easy to use and light).
I have all of the gearbox pumps / rads / fuel pumps (only the best fuelabs pumps), surge tanks etc etc. There is no exhaust.
The black body is sitting at Ultima waiting for collection (only £1.5k left to pay).
All the top spec items like fully adjustable suspension, leather seats with lumbar etc etc

So, just about ready to finish.

What's it worth?

sorry to hear your bad news, my father was diagnosed just before Christmas.
Its one of those awful questions to answer I am afraid...its basically as much as you can get - every person will put their own value on it and whatever you advertise it for people will end up making offers, so bear that in mind. There have been several part built or partial stages advertised here and elsewhere in the last couple of years some still advertised now and generally I dont think the market is very strong at the moment in all honesty.
Take care.

As above very sorry for the news, but even fully built people are offering peanuts. Kitcar market is not for those looking for a return on their money.

Sorry to hear your news.

Whilst a hassle you ,will almost certainly recoup more by selling the parts rather than everything in one go

Bummer to here mate. As stated concentrate on giving the disease a fight, get better, get back to the build. Especially if you can afford to keep it. It will be a good present for yourself after you get better.

I'm a bit jealous and want that transaxle though wink

Sorry to hear the prognosis, however as others have stated having goals and ambitions beyond the immediate focus of fighting the cancer can be positive in the fight itself.

I totally agree on this, you must have something that you really want to live for and driving your own built Ultima for the first time is definetely one ot these "things" !

All I can say is "hang in there". Keep your build on hold for better days. It will be something to look forward for and remain a super achievement to finish when that sod stuff has been eliminated. Keep the fighting spirit as I have several close friends around me who have been down that road and have come back in great health, so we will be thinking of you over the next months.

Don't make a snap decision to sell. You can beat this but you will have good and bad days. Use the good one's to work on the Ultima and it will drag you through the bad one's.

I have a friend in a similar position and he is fighting with considerable success.

Have plenty of good days.

Hi

Well, got the prognosis. The form of cancer I have is not curable, they may be able to slow to the growth, so not great.

Still up for selling it ....

My heart goes out to you and your family Gareth. I respect your dignity and if you can except the inevitability of the situation, and I am well aware that the written word often softens the true gravity of a situation, then all I can say is make sure the time you have left is well spent and go create some memories.
