Have I got an engine for your Ultima !!
Discussion
Was the conversion from my mate at the scrappy
Spec V10 5 ltr twin turbo 550 ft lbs torque 30 mpg
Yes I said on the spot
IT's a VW V10 diesel, does anyone want to create the fastest diesel supercar ..
Now if I get the used veggie oil from the chippy I can make my own eco diesel as well

10 Second diesel anyone? Bring it on
It's not such a strange idea really is it? I mean with 550 ft/lb, and the fact that the Ult still weighs about a tonne, it really doesn't matter what fuel it burns.
You always get bags of torque out of a big diesel anyhow, so if your going to put it into a sports car, I for one can't think of a better car to put it in. Don't forget the auto-box with 'locker' convertor as its a shame to waste all that torque
I would love to see peoples faces down the Pod if you pulled low 10's in a diesel Ultima
The VW Toureg diesel mill is supposed to be quite something.

A team will be racing at this year's Le Mans with a prototype car powered by a diesel engine based on the VW block, developed by Mountune with Caterpillar branding.
Will the prototype be on slicks or tracks???
I took the liberty of ringing the local VW garage to ask about the 6 litre W12 (petrol!) that is used in the Phaeton...
Even thought that model is not sold here they should be able to get it, around £9000 for the base engine...
Don't think we'll see one in the wreckers yet!
But you never know...
Still think I prefer the SBC...

Is that just the long block?
I think it included most of the mechanical things... but probably you'd still need to spend a bit more on the electrical bits and any other silly little gadget hanging off of it...
I have some mates in Germany, so since I'll be over there next weekend, I might try to get them to talk to the factory...
and then you'd need to get a custom bellhousing for the G50 and probably modify the engine mounts, etc, etc... aka, it makes for a good pit to throw money into!
Though, it does have some sort of bragging value attached ;-)
