Breather mini filters instead of oil catch tank?

Is it possible to use breather mini filters instead of oil catch tank?

I don't think you want the back pressure they would produce.

In factory form the Chevy V8 has a vacumm valve (PCV)to suck the fumes back into the inlet. We, usually, dispence with this but should not make things even worse by restricting the flow.

They would look nice though. Stood and looked at them in Halfords but finally managed to drag myself away. Did find a set of blue LED lights in my basket when I got to the checkout which now light the footwell when you open the doors. Blue light/polished ali---Cool.

Under track use or sustained rpm the breathers will spray oil mist all over. I'd run a catch can.

I don't think that would work. The litte filters you see are inlet filters used on engines where the breather is connected to the inlet manifold - they are not intended to act as oil traps. The conventional options for a wet sump system are to route the breather back into the inlet, or to an external catch tank.
