Gents

Took the Ult for a shakedown today - 15 miles in I lost alternator charge - had enough battery juice to get me home. Set up is that I have a trigger wire (with resitor) - voltage still present, ignition 12v wire, and main charge (output cable). All appears fine - just no juice coming out when I start up.

Have trawled all previous threads

So - urgently looking for a GM alternator that I can fit to LS7 tonight - I've 2 shows to attend this weekend - I'll drive most places today to collect (anywhere south east or north of London) if anyone can suggest anything.

Frustrated
Paul

Hi Paul

Had a very similar problem last week, My apparently new Alternator was knackered spoke to GM who didnt wnat to know except checking a serial number for me. (another issue altogether)

However in the mean time had it repaired, which took about an hour. cost £60 but it was a company local to Aldridge West Midlands. Maybe open today but not sure if they can help before tomorrow.

Hi Paul, Sorry cant help unless you could get a v belt alternator to work, dont know if you can swap pulleys. It was a spare i had for the sbc, unused and chromed, think it was a 120watt output. Ddid you get my mail yesterday about ac.

Update - a long evening & early morning and she lives again - with the help of some custom fabrication and a modified (with angle grinder) Delco Remy 923 100A alternator.

Hope to be at Stoneleigh tomorrow.
