Due to the digital switchover happening very shortly my folks will soon have do drop their trusty VCR, so will be looking for a V+ box (preferably HD)
They have a standard V box on virgin, with the XL tv package.
They also have phone and BB also through Virgin.
I was jusy wondering how much an upgrade would be. Are there are any subscription costs involved in having the HD, like sky do?
Is it just a one off fee to "rent" the box, if so how much?
I presume there will be an installaion charge somewhere too.
I'm aware of the tivo release but TBH they just want to be able to record stuff like the good old VCR did hehe

Thanks

If they're on the XL TV package they should be able to get a V+ box free, just call up Virgin and ask, tell them you are considering moving to Sky as they are offering a free HD box blah, blah.

If not I think they charge £20 to existing customers which is not too bad. Check the website.

My V box had a fault and they replaced it with a V+ HD jobbie at no charge. I'm on the M package, I think
